Already a week out of Vancouver
Hello my friends.
Now I'm already almost a week out of the beautiful city of Vancouver. I first I didn't believe it but I miss it. We drove now trough Okanagan Valley and over the Rogers Pass to Golden (the gate to the big National Parks in Alberta).
So I will give you a quick survey about over trip since we left Vancouver last Sunday and to make it a bit more interesting I put some pictures in as well:
Sunday September 3:
first picture is from the Hell's Gate. Our first stop on the way out of Town. It was really fantastic to see the Fraser River down in his valley. On the picture you see the suspension bridge down in the valley. You go down to this little village with a sky-ride, which is constructed by a swiss company from Thun.
Down there you see big Salmonstairs because the Fraser River is on the way of the Salmons to go back to their babyspots.
So after this interesting but a bit stupid because it was very touristy as well and because of that it was very artifical....
An other thing down in this valley is the railway... the pacific railway goes through this valley and it was very impressing to see the long long long long (30-50 wagons) trains.
Monday, September 4:
This day we visited a valley called Okanagan valley which is actually the fruitchamber of Canada. There you can tasting wine aswell.
Tuesday, September 5:
This day we drove from Vernon to Revelstock. On the way to Revelstock we had to taste wine and this was very intersting as well.... i will show you the pictures an other day.
In Revelstock we found a lodge with a hot tube (whirlpool) for us.... and the house was build for 12 people and we were alone there. It was a lot of space for us.
Wednesday, September 6:
We were in the Mount Revelstock Nationalpark to see the mountains and it was just gorgeous.
Today we drove to Golden in Alberta.... we had to change the time... and it was very beautiful to see the mountains from the Rogers pass were they have finished the Trans-Canada-Highway.
So I will give you more Information in the next days as soon as I get Internet again.
